Users of the Balkan Shield mobile application can request the permanent deletion of their account and the personal data associated with it.

How to request account deletion

1. Complete the contact form.
2. Enter the email address associated with your Balkan Shield account.
3. Enter “Account deletion request” in the subject or message field.
4. Submit the request.

We may contact you by email to verify that you are the owner of the account before processing the deletion request.

Data that will be deleted

After your request has been verified, your Balkan Shield account and the following associated data will be permanently deleted:

• account and profile information;
• name, email address, phone number and other contact information;
• networking connections and networking requests;
• application preferences and settings;
• other personal data directly associated with your account.

Data that may be retained

Certain information may be retained after account deletion when required for legal, security or technical purposes:

• data that we are legally required to retain will be kept for the period required by applicable law;
• security and audit records may be retained for up to 90 days, solely for security, fraud prevention and investigation of potential misuse;
• backup copies may be retained for up to 30 days, after which they will be automatically overwritten or permanently deleted.

Data retained for legal, security or technical purposes will not be used for marketing or any other unrelated purpose.

Processing time

Account deletion requests are processed without undue delay and no later than 30 days after receiving the request and completing any necessary identity verification.

Once the deletion process has been completed, the account cannot be restored, and the deleted data cannot be recovered.
